The digital electrode with an embedded signal board applies a specific negative voltage amplitude between the polarized electrode and reference electrode to selectively choose free chlorine for reaction, causing it to undergo electrochemical reactions at the cathode of the electrode. This forms current signals proportional to residual chlorine concentration that are collected and calculated through serial port 485 output using standard Modbus RTU protocol.
